I’m committed to realizing diversity and equality in healthcare, and the workplace. I take pride in spearheading initiatives that help prepare the next generation to soar. I describe myself as a healthcare equality champion and compassionate leader. Both these phrases are representative of what I have achieved in the past, and they embody what I will do in the future.
Healthcare Equalizer
I’ve been dutiful in my career to help ensure that all individuals, especially minorities, have access to affordable, quality healthcare.
As a proven executive in the healthcare industry, I’m comfortable in a variety of professional settings. My previous experience includes hospital operations, ambulatory care, community advocate, and medical education.
My career boasts a track record of improving efficiency and productivity. My strong operational background empowers me to build engaging and competent teams that embrace organizational priorities, vision and messaging.
Strategic Planner
One of my strengths is applying my understanding of the healthcare industry in all phases of strategic planning. From improving physician relations to implementing process improvements, my work has proven invaluable in streamlining operations.
In my leadership role as the Immediate Past-President of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), my focus was on innovation, advocacy, and organizational sustainability. My leadership abilities stem from my passion and experience, and allow me to be the change I want to see.
Passionate Advocate
My other positions include serving on numerous boards, including the University of Michigan Health Management Policy Alumni Board, the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives, The Institute for Diversity and Health Equity, ACHE-SouthEast Texas Chapter, and San Jose Clinic in Houston, Texas.
Additionally, I serve on the Panel of Judges for Quality Texas as lead judge. This foundation assists organizations to improve their performance using the Baldrige Excellence Framework as a guide.
My previous experiences coupled with my will to bring about a positive change, allow me to create lasting impact in organizations when serving on their board. I’m enthusiastic about the chance to bring healthcare diversity and equality for all. I will continue doing this, both on the operational side and via serving on boards – always advocating for what I believe in.
