I have spent my career as a C-suite financial executive for Fortune 500 companies. I have been recognized for directly impacting outcomes for global mergers and acquisitions, and for building a culture of integrity and credibility. Being a certified public accountant as well as a chartered property and casualty underwriter, my experience and background set me up for my next goal.
Authentic Relationship Builder
My goal is to serve on the board of a company that promotes a culture of financial integrity and business ethics. I am a qualified financial expert and would ultimately like to serve as an audit committee chair. I bring valuable board and audit committee insights from both sides of the boardroom table, having served as a board member of a privately held business and as an officer and board member of several non-profit organizations. As a senior finance executive, I have also served as a liaison to the audit committee chair of a publicly-traded company.
I am a strategic thinker who creates value by connecting the dots between financial and economic risks and business goals. I am a relationship builder and team player but like to pave my own path as well. I am an independent thinker, have good business acumen, and sound professional judgment.
Recognized for Financial Integrity
I recently retired from my role as Chief Accounting Officer at Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL), where I served for over two decades. In addition to serving on the executive leadership team of this successful, growth-oriented global financial services holding company, I also have prior C-suite experience developing turnaround and exit strategies for a troubled retailer and for a television/media company.
