Thought leader and vocal advocate for gender equality

Biography

As the CEO of the Ellig Group, Janice is dedicated to increasing the placement of women and underrepresented executives on corporate boards and in C-suites. Prior to her career in executive search, Janice spent 20 years in corporate America at Pfizer, Citi and Ambac Financial Group, an IPO from Citibank, where she was responsible for Marketing, Human Resources, and Administration.

Named one of “The World’s Most Influential Headhunters,” according to Bloomberg Businessweek, Janice’s pioneering executive search work has accelerated what she describes as the “glacial rate of change” in corporations led her to focus on the firm’s placement of women and underrepresented executives in senior management and board roles. Her commitment to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace is well established, far-reaching and enduring. This native New Yorker is far from finished in her push to advance women more quickly, using her influence and disruptive insights to shape how companies reimagine and diversity their talent ranks and corporate and board leadership.

Janice is a media guest on gender parity, inclusion, and diversity, and penned multiple articles for the Financial Times, Directors & Boards, Directorship, Corporate Director, and Forbes.com. Janice also co-authored two books: Driving The Career Highway and What Every Successful Woman Knows, acknowledged by Bloomberg Businessweek as “the best of its genre.”

Janice is Past President of the Women’s Forum of New York, and Founder of the Women’s Forum of New York’s Corporate Board Initiative and its signature event, Breakfast of Corporate Champions, which she has chaired for over a decade, honoring those companies leading board diversity and to encourage CEOs to sponsor board-ready women for the Women’s Forum database.
