With more than 25 years of experience as a fixed-income portfolio manager and financial executive who possesses significant expertise in the financial and operational oversight of for-profit, governmental, and not-for-profit organizations, I currently serve as a board member of the Northern Institutional Funds and Northern Funds, where I am chair of the Funds’ governance committees; I also serve as an independent director of MassMutual Mutual Funds.
Facilitator of Opportunities
Elected in 2021 to vice-chair of the Independent Directors Council, I am also a member of the Investment Company Institute Board of Governors. In addition, as a lifelong learner who continues to pursue meaningful learning and involvement opportunities concerning educational access and the impact of belonging and inclusion on the success of students and young adults, I am board president for the Chicago High School for the Arts.
Collaborative Leader
I recently established The Alzenia Project, a not-for-profit (NFP) resource whose goal is to leverage the impact of other NFPs committed to helping young women of color to achieve personal and professional growth. I am also board chair of The Village, a new social venture designed to expand access to out-of-school education for K-12 children.
I co-founded and advise Black & Crimson Passport to Boards, Inc increasing board placement for Black and Latino Harvard alumni.
Throughout my participation in all the above, I bring a solid commitment to and knowledge of the importance of non-financial factors to both the corporate and education arenas.
